Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a reliable fireproof heat-resistant synthetic resin formed article which foams and exhibits high heat-resistance under every possible heating conditions, by adding a powder mixture of a silicate and a phosphate to a specific composition obtained by mixing a boron compound, an alkali and water.
CONSTITUTION: A powder mixture comtaining a silicate and/or phosphate is added to a composition of formula I or its intermediate (x, y and z satisfy the formula II) obtained by mixing (A) a boron such as boron oxide, orthoboric acid, metaboric acid, pyroboric acid, alkali borate, etc., (B) an alkali such as anhydrous or hydrated NaOH, Na2CO3, etc. and (C) water (existing as water of crystallization or separately added to the system).
