Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:2-Phenyl-substituted-1-phthalazone derivative of formula I (R1,2 are lower alkyl; R3 is straight or branched alkyl).
EXAMPLE: 4-Carboxy-7-ethoxycarbonyl-6,8-dimethyl-1-phthalazone.
USE: Synthetic intermediate of remedy and prophylactic for ischemic heart diseases, thrombotic diseases, etc.; for example, intermediate of 2-phenyl-4-hydroxymethyl-1- phthalazone derivative.
PROCESS: Reaction of a compound II with phenylhydrazine affords the objective compound I. The compound II can be obtained, e.g. by oxidizing the corresponding 3-hydroxyphthalide derivative with potassium permanganate under alkaline condition.
