Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the production of white smoke, by providing a cooling area and a re-heating area, by passing cooling water through the re-heating area as it is after passing through the cooling area, and by recyclingly utilizing it as sprinkling water for cooling at the cooling area after cooling the passing heat source fluid.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas is fed first to a cooling area 5, and moisture contained is decreased after exhaust gas is cooled. Cooling water passing through the cooling area 5 and also moisture, which is dehydrated from exhaust gas, are storaged in a lower water bath, and are fed to a heating coil 8 by means of a pump 10. The heating coil forms a re-heating area, and a latent heat retained by cooling water fed through the heating coil 8 re-heats exhaust gas cooled once at the cooling area. Water passing through the coil 8 is fed to a sprinkling device 13 of a cooling tower 9 and is cooled therein, and is recycled to a sprinkling device 6 through a lower water bath 14 and a pump 15. Exhaust gas itself can be prevented from the production of white smoke by utilizing the heat retained by exhaust gas in such a manner as mentioned above.
