Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the manufacture, maintenance and checking of a water distribution trough for a wet cooling tower or the like, by providing reinforcing ribs on the side plates of the trough.
CONSTITUTION: The side plates 1 and an end plate 3 are bent so that the reinforcing ribs 8, 9 are provided. The ribs extend horizontally at the open tops of the side plates 1 and the end plate 3 or between the tops and a bottom plate 4. A flange 2 is formed around a water inlet port 6. Water distribution ports 7 are perforated in prescribed positions through the side plates 1. This results in giving a prescribed strength to the trough and simplifying its construction and manufacture.
