Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent local hardness change of a cleaning blade, eliminate uneven friction on the photosensitive drum of the electrophotographic copier and remove linear image stains without affecting the drum life by providing impact strips on the drum surface of the electrophotographic copier. CONSTITUTION:Spiral protruding strips 12 of a height 20mum are formed on the substrate 11 of a photosensitive drum 10. Next, Se is evaporated on the surface of the substrate 11. On the other hand, a cleaning blade 14 made of polyurethane rubber is contacted to the tangent parallel to the longitudinal direction of the drum 10. When copying is started, the drum 10 ratates in the arrow x direction and the toner remained after transfer is scraped off by the blade 14. The blade 14 contacts and crosses the protruding strips 12 and since the protruding bodies 12 are spiral, the entire length of the blade 14 crosses the protruding bodies 12 while the drum 10 makes 1 turn. Then, the hardness of the blade 14 becomes uniform without causing any local hardness change and therefore the uneven friction on the drum is eliminated and the linear stains of the images are removed.
