Abstract

PURPOSE: To make page turning easy and improve copying efficiency in case originals are books or the like by palcing the originals on the main unit, providing the contact glass making contact to the top surface of the originals to the bottom surface of the openable case and providing a lighting system, optical system and part of photoreceptor in the inside.
CONSTITUTION: A floating platen 3 on which the originals 2 are placed with the original surface 2a being faced upward is provided in the position where conventional contact glass is to be provided. A case 5 having contact glass 4 on the bottom surface is openably provided to the main unit 1. Transfer paper 6 is conveyed with its conveying direction being directed from the forward side to backward. The case 5 is made openeable from the main unit 1 by a support shaft 10. A lighting system and optical system 12 which reciprocate from backward to forward are disposed in the case. A belt-form photoreceptor 22 is provided by way of a guide roller 21 between the roller 19 provided to the front side of the case 5 and the roller 20 provided in the center of the rear part in the main unit 1. The roller 19 is energized forward by a spring 23 to put the photoreceptor 22 in a constant tension state.
