Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method of constructing retaining wall in deep water, which is capable of constructing the retaining wall under stable conditions with no use of a large-sized floating dog, and therefore capable of improving efficiency of retaining wall constructing works.
CONSTITUTION: Retaining wall 1F in the form of a concrete box, having a lower chamber on both sides thereof, is erected on floating dock A. Then, the floating dock A is submerged into water by pouring water into dock A and carried to a required position. After mooring the dock A at the position, the box of retaining wall is stabilized by pouring concrete 4 into middle chambers 3, so that side walls of the middle chambers 3 stand upright. Thereafter, the box-like retaining wall is made to rest at a required position on the mound by filling filler material 7 into the middle chambers 3, and then concrete 8 is further filled into the chambers 3 on filler material 7.
