Abstract

PURPOSE: To calculate the display the runable distance always under a stable condition by using the timely fuel cost and the mean fuel cost.
CONSTITUTION: A display device 8 and a warning device 6 are connected with a microcomputer 4 through an instant fuel cost meter 1, a fuel meter 2, a repetition timer 3 and a display drive circuit 7. As a result, the timely fuel cost of a vehicle is detected by the fuel cost meter 1, and is fed to the microcomputer 4 until it is repeatedly sample with a preset period through the timer 3. The mean fuel cost is calculated with the use of a plurality of data obtained by the sampling process, and the residual fuel is detected by the meter 2 so that the runable distance can be calculated from the mean fuel cost and the fuel remainder at that time and displayed in the device 8.
