Abstract
PURPOSE: To form the plating layer of superior adhesiveness by pickling and activating the inside surface of the Zr alloy pipe used as coated pipe for nuclear fuel with the NH4F-HF solution of the specific concentration and subjecting the inside surface of the pipe to ultrasonic cleaning then plating the same while circulating the plating solution.
CONSTITUTION: The inside surface surface of the Zr alloy pipe used as coated as coated pipe for nuclear fuel is pickled and activated by the solution of NH4F 0.2W 1.5mol, HF 0.05W0.5mol and NH4F/HF=1.2W15 (molar ratio). Next, a Zr alloy pipe 1 and an ultrasonic vibrator 10 are put in an ultrasonic treating cell 9 containing cleaning water 8 and water is supplied into the pipe 1 through water supply pipe 12, which is then subjected to ulrrasonic cleaning by moving the vibrator 10 to right and left with a motor 11. Next, an anode bar 2 is inserted into the pipe 1 and is held by terminal jigs 3, 3, thence the inside surface of the pipe is plated while the plating solution 4 is being circulated in the pipe 1 through pipe 6 from a pump 5.
