Abstract

PURPOSE: To make scanning of light beam linear by disposing a concave faced mirror such as the one whose section perpendicular to the desired scanning direction is a portion of an ellipse or circle in such a position where the deflecting point of a light deflector and scanning plane assumes an imaging relation.
CONSTITUTION: When the laser beam 2 from a laser light source 1 radiates the hologram disc 3 which is making rotating motion at the first focus F1 of an ellipse 8, the light beam diffracted by the hologram disc 3 is deflected in the direction perpendicular to the plane of figure, i.e., desired scanning direction.
