Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a compact fermentor for the composting of organic wastes, and having rationalized stirring mechanism, composed of a fermenting tank having an oblong circular shape, and a stirrer endlessly travelling along the rim of the fermenting tank.
CONSTITUTION: Organic wastes such as cattle dung, are fed to the charging part B of a fermentor 3, and stirred with a scraping blades 7 of a stirrer 10. The scraped wastes are thrown to the back of the stirrer 10 through a chute 9, and heaped up. The wastes change from the cold and humid state to the hot and dry state by fermentation. The stirrer 10 is traversed along the outer wall of the fermentor 3 by guiding wheels 19, while traversing reciprocally along a crossing bar 13 by a chain mechanisms 22. The traversing of the stirrer along the curved wall can be performed by the aid of an auxiliary guide 4 and a rotatably mounted guiding wheel.
