Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible free attenuation method and constant amplitude method and make automatic measurement easy by applying torsion to sample and generating electric signal according to the torsional vibrations.
CONSTITUTION: This is provided with a driving device 4 consisting of a moving coil and a permanent magnet or the like for giving torsion to a sample 1, switches 30 thru 33, 36, 37 inserted in the energizing circuit of the device 4, a device 20 which generates the electric signal proportional to the amplitude of torsional vibrations, and a circuit 21 which generates the driving signal or damping signal of the device 4 in correspondence to deviations by detecting the deviations from the constant amplitude, wherein the driving signal or damping signal is supplied to the device 4 so that the sample 1 maintains the constant amplitude torsional vibrations.
