Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Multiple protrusions 5 are formed parallel in the interior of a tube 3 at a certain inclination with respect to the axial line thereof. At this time, high- profile large protrusions 5a having a trapezoidal section and low-profile small protrusions 5b having a triangular section are arrayed alternately. This tube is inserted into a hole 2 of multiple plate form fins 1, and a tube expanding head 4 is press-fitted into the tube to expand the tube. As a result, fins may be secured to the outer circumference of the tube. The tube expanding head contacts only with the larger protrusions, and does not deform the small protrusions, so that the heat exchanging surface area may not be decreased. Thus, a heat exchanger of cross fin coil type may be produced easily and efficiently.
