Abstract
PURPOSE: Title fungicidal gel agent that prepared by adding a solvent and a macromolecular substance to tolnaftate in specific proportion, thus giving good feel when applied, showing high curing effect with reduced irritation.
CONSTITUTION: Tolnaftate (1W3wt%), a lower alcohol of 3 or less carbon atoms or a mixture thereof with other alcohols (5W30wt%), methyl ethyl ketone or acetone (5W30wt%), a carboxy vinyl polymer (1W2wt%), water (0W15wt%), a neutralizer (required amount) and a polyethylene glycol of 200W1,000 average molecular weight (10W80wt%) are incorporated to give said tolnaftate-dissolved gel agent for external application. Tolnaftate is scarcely soluble in water and polar solvents; however, the combination with solvents gives the gel agent with good feel when applied and high curing effect.
USE: Remedy for tinea pedis, tinea crursis and tinea corporis.
