Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain fibers comprising immobilized enzymes usable for packing columns, by immersing composite fibers formed from a solution of an aminoacetalized polyvinyl alcohol and another polymer solution in an aqueous solution of enzymes.
CONSTITUTION: A solution of an aminoacetalized polyvinyl alcohol (A) is brought into contact with another polymer solution and spun into sheath-core type composite fibers comprising preferably 20W60wt% of (A). The fibers thus obtained are treated with a 0.5W2N aqueous acid, and immersed in an aqueous solution of enzymes to give the objective fibers comprising immobilized enzymes.
