Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve heat transmission rate by a mechanism wherein a sintered metal wick having minute balls fusion welded on its inner surface of the evaporation portion is provided, covered with cylindrical metal plate by providing grooves on the inner surface of the heat insulation portion and those grooves extending from the evaporation portion located on the inner surface of the condensation portion are covered with metal net wick.
CONSTITUTION: On the evaporation portion A, the wick 2 made of layered and sintered metal on which minute metal balls are fusion welded is attached with a uniform thickness. On the heat insulation portion B, steam passage 3 is formed at its center, constituting circulation passage for liquid by providing a plurality of grooves 4 extending toward axial direction on the inner circumference of the container 1. For the purpose of separating the passages for gas and liquid, cylindrically formed thin metal plate 5 is established on the inner circumference of the grooves. At the condensation portion C, grooves 4 of the same construction are established being continued from the heat insulation portion B, on the inner circumference thereof, cylindrically formed metal net 6 is attached closely on those grooves. By this constitution, heat transmission rate more in its quantity as compared with the conventional wick type of a single form is made available.
