Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a wooden veneer which is easily sanded and had a better anticrack property, by melting high molecular weight polyethylene glycol unflowable at room temperature and applying it on the surface of the wooden venner.
CONSTITUTION: A base plate 1 such as veneer, wooden plate is bonded with a wooden veneer 2 cut from natural wood such as Japanese oak, by using adhesive 3 such as phenolic resin. Then, the surface is sanded with sandpaper and applied with melted polyethylenglycol to form its layer 4. It is cooled to room temperature and made smooth by applying sandpaper to be followed by urethane resin or like coating to form a resin coated layer 5. The coated resin cures at room temperature, and thus provides a wooden veneer with facilitated sanding and a better anticrack property.
