Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a fire-proof window glass plate having a flame isolating property and capable of continuously holding high see-through by uniformly heat- strengthening the whole surface of a soda lime type transparent glass plate so that the surface compressive stress becomes a specified value.
CONSTITUTION: At least the edges of a soda lime type transparent glass plate are plished so that the max. unevenness of the polished surfaces becomes 0.05mm or below. Next the whole surface of the polished plate is uniformly heat-strengthened so that the surface compressive stress becomes 26kg/mm2 or above.
