Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve elution preventing effect and mechanical characteristics by increasing mixing rate of resin component which is mixed with solidified electrostatic precipitation ash.
CONSTITUTION: Resin component, such as polystyrol, etc., of 40W95 weight parts and basic component, such as slaked lime, etc., of 1W10 weight parts are mixed to electrostatic precipitation ash of 5W60 weight parts, and a uniform shaped or irregularly shaped materials are formed with the mixture. When the mixing rate of resin component is increased in this procedure, a thick coating film is formed around the particle of ash and an effect of preventing elution is obtained. Moreover, by adding a specified amount of basic component, its pH is adjusted so that hydroxides of heavy metal, such as Cd, etc., may be formed. Elution of heavy metal which causes environmental pollution, therefore, becomes difficult, because the hydroxides are stabilized in the eluate and at the surface of solidified material. Moreover, since such solidified material os not easily crushed or broken even a strong mechanical stress is applied to it, it can effectively be used for various purposes.
