Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the subject a one-way operation system using a thruster thereby to make it possible to steer the ship at low speed longitudinally and horizontally.
CONSTITUTION: A vertical cylinder 2 accommodsting therein a propeller 1 of a vertical shaft which is a vertical type thruster and forming a water inlet port 2a opening on the ship bottom plate 6 is provided on the ship bottom part, and there is provied thereon a waterway bonding portion 4 accommodating therein a change- over valve 5 fitted to hollow shaft 9 which is an outer cylinder of a propeller shaft 8, waterways 3a through 3d being slantly stretched in four directions toward the ship bottom. By this organization, when a handle 7 is nanipulated, a change-over valve 5 is rotated through the hollow shaft 9, and the outlet port 5b thereof is caused to coincide with the waterway 3d, seawater is sucked up from the ship bottom into the vertical cylinder 2 by the rotation of the propeller 1, and blasted rearwardly and slightly downwardly via the waterway joining part 4 and waterway 3b, thus the ship being advanced, and by changing the flow outlet 5b over to the waterways 3a, 3d and 3c, respectively, whereby backing, left-hand navigation and right-hand navigation being carried out.
