Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily stop the transmission of motive power under an overload, by connecting the driving shaft of a belt conveyor to the output shaft of an electric motor through a magnet by its magnetic attractive force. CONSTITUTION:An endless belt conveyor 1 is supported at one end on a support roll 2 and at another end on a driving roll 3. A magnet 4 is provided on one side of the driving roll 3. Another magnet 8 mounted on a transmission shaft 7 is set in contact with the former magnet 4. Both the magnets constitute a magnet clutch. When the conveying part of the belt conveyor is overloaded, the magnets 4, 8 are separated from each other to prevent an electric motor 5 from being overloaded.
