Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a compound capable of affording a high modulus speaker diaphragm, etc., by kneading together a binder and a graphite powder followed by forming into a sheet-like material through calendering process to effect orientation of the graphite powder.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A binder such as polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, a polyimide resin, a coaltar pitch, etc., and (B) a graphite powder (pref. having a diameter of 0.1μWseveral microns) are mixed together in a weight ratio A/B of, e.g., 1/2. Using a mixing roller 1, the resulting mixture is heated to above the softening point of the binder and kneaded, followed by calendering pref. several times to form into a sheet-like material, thus giving the objective compound.
