Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the strength of a chain by preventing oxidation of a juncture surface part and precipitation of chromium carbide by superposing a high-frequency current by covering the juncture surface part with inert gas during fusion and deposition of the juncture flank of a chain member.
CONSTITUTION: Chain member A is supported electrodes 1 and 2 at both its sides and a high-frequency current is fed to minus electrode 2. Inert gas of argon, etc., is jetted from gas nozzle 3 and the outer circumference of juncture flank (a) is covered with it.
