Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a modified polypropylene resin having excellent adhesivity, paintability and dyeability, by the melt-mixing of a polypropylene resin, a liquid rubber, an unsaturated carboxylic acid, and a radical generator, in the absence of solvent.
CONSTITUTION: The title resin is prepared by the melt-mixing of (A) 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin such as a stereoregular polypropylene resin and a propylene-ethylene copolymer, (B) 0.5W20 parts of a liquid rubber composed mainly of a diene monomer and having a number average molecualr weight of 500W10,000, and pref. flowable at room temperature, (C) 3W30 parts of an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative, and (D) 0.5W5 parts of a radical generator, in the absence of solvent, wherein the ratio of the unsaturated carboxylic acid to the radical generator is adjusted within 1 and 30.
