Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate application of thrust load to the bearings of a motor with a brake to improve the braking performance of the brake by transmitting the thrust load operating at the rotary shaft at braking time through a slide plate to a frictional plate.
CONSTITUTION: A rotor 9 is provided on a shaft 5 in a stator 4 of a motor and supported by thrust bearings 7. When the stator 4 is energized, the rotor 9 is upwardly attracted by means of magnetic force to be thus rotated. When the stator 4 is deenergized, the rotor 9 is downwardly slid by its self weight to slidably contact a shoe 13 with a lower frictional plate 12 to thereby stop the rotor 9 by means of frictional force. Further, the vertical plane 19 of the lower hook 18 of a slide plate 14 is separated from the hook 17 to allow the oblique surface 20 to slide on the hook 17 to thereby cause the hook 18 to strongly urge the shoe 13 of the rotor 9 toward the lower frictional plate 12.
