Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the heat exchangers of superior heat transfer performance, lightness in weight and small sizes by forming the porous metals formed by the special method using resins having the special holes as a pattern around the zigzag heat transfer tubes. CONSTITUTION:With the resins having three-dimensional continuous holes such as foamed urethane or the like as a pattern, the holes thereof are filled with fluid casting mold material such as of slurry composed of plaster powder and water or the like and the resine are evaporated by heating or the like and are removed, whereby split fin casting molds 5, 6 having tree-branch form continuous holes are formed. A plurality of these are incorporated to a heat transfer pipe 1 having beforehand molded to zigzag form. Metal material of good heat conductivity such as Al, copper or other is filled in the holes of the casting molds, after which the casting mold material is removed. The heat exchanger of superior heat transfer characteristics wherein the fin blocks 2 having continuous voids 4 of the fine wire form fin 3 assuming skeleton form are bonded by integral molding on the surfaces of the heat transfer pipe 1 is obtained. The need for intricate assembling process such as with cross fin type heat exchangers by conventional methods is eliminated and miniaturization is made possible.
