CONSTITUTION:On magnetic tape 1, video and sound signals are recorded at the same time by rotary magnetic head 2 and sound recording head 19. The video signal, recorded on this tape 1, is reproduced by head 2 and the sound signal, on the other hand, is reproduced by reproducing head 18 provided distance DELTAl behind head 19 in the run direction of tape 1 and then outputted by way of delay circuit 31 of delay time determined in accordance with distance DELTAl and the run speed of tape 1. Therefore, the reproduced video signal and sound signal are synchronized each other as well as recording without reference to the tape speed, so that even when the tape run speed is reduced for high-density recording, video and sound signals with simultaneity can be reproduced.
