Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a bin box which is so designed that stocked items can be carried on and off a shelf fitted with a plurality of shelf elements in vertical and horizontal directions, to ensure that the items are held stable on the shelf assuredly even when applied with external forces such as an earthquake.
CONSTITUTION: In a three-dimensional shelf 1 fitted with a plurality of shelf elements 2 in vertical and lateral directions, a travelling rail 7 and a travelling guide rail 8 are laid in a shelf passage 6 between opposed shelf fronts 5, and a stacker type crane 10 is installed travellably along the rails 7 and 8. With a container 20 on a luggage carrier 12 carried onto a desired shelf element 2 by the crane 10 and pushed deep, an advance of a container receiving element 21 tilts a lock lever 31 downward against a spring 36. When the lever 31 hass passed by the lower end of the element 21, the lever 31 is tilted upward by the spring 36, resulting in that the container 20 is locked by a lock device 30. Thus, the container 20 is held stable on the shelf 1 even at an earthquake.
