Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture an ignition signal generator excellent in performance and mechanical strength, by fitting a slip ring with an ignition signal generating magnet and fitting a cover with ain ignition signal generating coil corresponding to the magnet to produce an ignition signal.
CONSTITUTION: Claw-type field cores 4a, 4b provided with a field coil 5 are tightly fitted on a boss 2 fixed on an end of crankshaft 1 of an engine. A slip ring 6, in which annular conductors 8a, 8b are integrally embedded in a base board 7 of synthetic resin by molding, is fixed on the field core 4a. An armature core 10 and a brush holder 16 are provided on a cover 11 attached to the casing 13 of the engine. An ignition signal generating magnet 18, which is a rare earth magnet or the like and magnetized in the axial direction, is fixed by a bonding agent or the like on the peripheral part of the synthetic resin base board 7 of the slip ring 6. An ignition signal generating coil 20 is attached to the cover 11 so that the coil faces the magnet 18 across an axial gap 19.
