Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject method comprising inserting a metal tape into the overlapped portion of a thermoplastic resin sheet, and welding the overlapped portion by a high frequency induction heating method thereby to obtain a resin-made cylindrical body of a good appearance without foaming caused by overheating. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin sheet 1 is introduced so that it covers the periphery of a columnar guide 3, and both ends of the sheet 1 is overlapped to be formed into a cylindrical shape. At the same time, a metal tape 2 such as an aluminum foil or the like is inserted onto the overlapped portion. The tape 2 is caused to travel between electrodes 4 and 5 for high-frequency induction heating whereby the tape 2 is heated, and the sheet 1 at the upper and lower parts of the tape is heated and molten. Furthermore, the overlapped portion is pressed and welded by a pressure roller 6 provided adjacent to the electrodes thereby to obtain the object cylindrical body.
