Abstract

CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyester composed of pref. >=90wt% of ethylene terephthalate unit is mixed with (B) 0.01-3 (pref. 0.025-0.5)wt%, based on (A), of silica powder having particle diameter of 0.01-10mu and treated with polyolefin (pref. polyethylene or polypropylene) wax, extruded to a sheet, and biaxially oriented to the longitudinal and the transverse directions at draw ratios of >=3. The addition of the silica powder to the polyester is pref. carried out by slurrifying the silica in ethlene glycol, and adding the slurry during the polymerization. EFFECT:Secondary agglomeration of the powder is prevented.
