Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the number of elbows and pipe joints which are liable to cause vacuum leakage, by using a water-feed pipe and exhaust pipe of a steam-generating water tank of a vacuum thawing chamber in common, or using a vacuum pipe and a vacuum-breaking pipe connected to the vacuum chamber in common.
CONSTITUTION: Cases 2 containing frozen food 1 are placed on shelves 3 of a vacuum thawing chamber 4. The chamber 4 is furnished with a steam-generating water tank 5 at the bottom. A pressure-regulating pipe 20 is connected to the chamber 4, and the other end of the pipe is branched to two branches connected to a pressure reduction valve 8 and a vacuum break valve 10, respectively. A water- pipe 21 is connected to the water tank 5, and the other end of the pipe 21 is branched to two branches connected to a water-feed valve 13 and a water-exhaust pipe 15, respectively.
