Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable stable image signals to be obtained even when the dark part densities of the original are high and correctly express the gradation of the dark parts as well by radiating required quantities of auxiliary light to the photoelectric faces of photoelectronic multipliers.
CONSTITUTION: In the mechanism of forming image signals by applying the light transmitted through a color film being the originals mounted to an original drum 11 to filters 20 thru 23 by way of half mirros 14 thru 16 and total reflecting mirror 17 and photoelectrically converting the light by respective photoelectronic multipliers 24 thru 27, always specified quantities of light are being applied to the photo detecting faces of the respective photoelectronic multipliers 24 thru 27 from the light emitting diodes 40a thru 43a provided to the photo detecting faces of the respective photoelectronic multipliers 24 thru 27 while device is operating and these quantity of auxiliary light are so set that no dark currents are provided from the respective photoelectronic multipliers even in the highest dark part density to have the possibility of being used as the original.
