Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of black areas except due to black signals on a reproduced image, by installing an exposing unit for forcibly exposing areas except the effective recording width defined by a cooperation coefficient between a charger and a developing unit. CONSTITUTION:Forcibly exposing unit 14 is installed between exposing unit 13 for exposing recording sheet 11 to recording information and developing unit 15 for attaching toner. In unit 14 both ends of sheet 11 in parallel to sheet 11 movement direction are covered with light shielding plates 17a, 17b e.g. formed into L- shapes are exposed to light from light sources 18a, 18b installed between sheet 11 and plates 17a, 17b as shown in the figure. Interval l between plates 17a and 17b is set to the effective recording width defined by a cooperation coefficient. As a result, black stain due to attachment of the toner on both ends of the sheet is prevented, so a good reproduced image can be obtained.
