Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Toner removed by a blade 8 from an image carrier surface is discharged from a casing 7 by conveying means 10, 18 and is collected and recovered in a toner recovery vessel 19. A seal 103 for preventing the toner from leaking to the outside is provided to the toner accepting part of this vessel 19. When the cleaning unit including the conveying means 10, 18 is moved to the evacuation potition in the direction going apart from the image carrier, breaking of the seal may be prevented by a relief 105.
