Abstract

PURPOSE:To so support a vessel that it turns when the specified volume of toner is contained therein, accurately detect the toner volume from its turning and suppress toner leakage through the toner accepting port of the recovery vessel. CONSTITUTION:Toner removed by a blade 8 from an image carrier is conveyed and is subsequently contained in a toner recovery vessel 13 by the screw 10 which is driven to rotate in a toner conduit 12 being a conveying means, below a casing 7. The vessel 13 has no toner therein and while the toner volume is small, it slightly tilts as shown by the chain line as a turning habit in a clockwise direction about a pin 111a together with a support member 112 is given thereto by a tension spring 118. However, when the toner volume in the vessel 13 increases, the vessel 13 assumes the position shown by the solid line and since an operating member 119 causes an actuator 121 to operate to turn on a switch 120, it may be detected from this that the toner is filled in the vessel.
