PURPOSE: To shorten working hours and also to prevent cable insulator and cable sheath from thermal deformation by keeping the connection of an insulated cable conductor at high temperatures and cooling down the cable insulator and cable sheath forcedly.
CONSTITUTION: Ends of rubber and plastic cables 1, 1' to connect are stripped, a cable conductor 2 is connected to another cable conductor 2', and then a thermally- fusible rubber/plastic wound layer 3 is formed on its outer periphery over both the cables. An eddy current is generated on the cable conductors 2, 2' from carring a high-frequency current through high-frequency coil 4, and thus the tape-wound layer 3 is heated and fused. A cable sheath and cable insulators are cooled below 105°C forcedly at the same time by feeding a cool air or circulating a refrigerant to cooling devices 6, 6' on the cable sheath and the cable insulators 5, 5' in the neighborhood of the wound layer 3.
