Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize an automatic elimination of the texture noise by setting the threshold level of the noise process by means of the density information around the notice picture element memorized in the memory.
CONSTITUTION: The picture data read in by scanner 1 is digitized through A/D converter 2 and every amount equivalent to the picture element and then written into memory 3. CPU4 reads out all picture information in sequence to produce the density distribution chart. Then the cumulative frequency from the white level is calculated to decide the 80∼90% level position as the threshold level for memorization. After this, CPU4 reads out newly the picture information from memory 3 to compare it with the threshold level. And in case the density level of the picture information is higher than the threshold level, the picture information is delivered directly to plotter 5; while the picture information is delivered in the form of zero when its density level is lower than the threshold level respectively. In such constitution, the texture noise can be eliminated automatically for any type of the original.
