CONSTITUTION:The electrode plate group 11 consists of an anode plate 12, cathode plate 13, and a separator 14, and on the upper end surface of the cathode plate 13, an electrode plate ear 15 is protruded. The strap forming mold 16 has a plurality of rod-shaped comb-tooth parts 17, each of which has circular section and of which top end is formed into the conical form part 17''. The electrode plate ear 15 is inserted between the comb-tooth parts 17 of the mold 16, and then another mold 18 is inserted and fitted with the conical form part 17' of the comb-tooth part 17, and then lead molten metal is poured into the mold 16, and thus a strap 19 is formed. Accordingly, caught-phenomenon in electrode plate ear insertion is eliminated, and insertion is facilitated, and the generation of not-fused part at the joint part of the strap and the electrode plate ear can be prevented.
