Abstract
PURPOSE: A lubricating grease composition usable under high temperature and load conditions, having improved thermal stability, comprising a sulfur-containing complex ester, prepared from a polyhydric alcohol, a sulfur-containing dibasic acid, and a monobasic acid, and a base oil.
CONSTITUTION: A lubricating grease composition comprising 5 wt.% or more based on the base oil of a sulfur-containing complex ester prepared from a polyhydric alcohol, a sulfur-containing dibasic acid, and a monobasic acid as a component of the base oil. Ethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, and glycerol may be cited as the alcohol. Fatty acids derived from fats and oils, or synthetic fatty acids, preferably 5W24C, obtained by oxidizing paraffins, may be used as the monobasic acid. Thiodiglycollic and thiodipropionic acids may be cited as the dibasic acid.
