Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a jet engine, in which its compressor blades and turbine blades are connected by means of mode bars and which are caused to flutter by the turbine blades so as to generate vibration at compressor blades and to thereby increase compression pressure of the turbine.
CONSTITUTION: A jet engine of this invention comprises compressor blades 2 disposed at the suction side 1, a combustion chamber 3 located at the central portion and turbine blades 7 disposed at the exhaust side 6. These blades 2, 7 are connected by mode bars 4, 4' that can be vibrated in vertical direction, and nodes 8, 8', 8", 8"' of vibration are located at two pairs of symmetrical positions for vibrating the bars 4, 4' vertically at these node positions. With such an arrangement, movement of turbine blades 7 caused by combustion gas is transmitted to compressor blades 2 via bars 4, 4' for driving the same supplementarily.
