Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable constant and sufficient retaining of an amount of oil required for lubrication of driving parts by separating the lubricating oil contained in a refrigerant flowing into a housing and returning the separated oil to a crank chamber, the separation being conducted at a point in the course of a suction circuit.
CONSTITUTION: The lubricating oil collected in the lower portion of a crank chamber 11c is paddled up by a rotor 19 attending on the driving of a main shaft 14. The major portion of the paddaled oil is converted to a flow toward an end plate 11a by a deflector formed in the upper portion of the inside surface of a side wall 11b, led into at lubricating oil passage 36, and lubricates a shaft seal mechanism 17 in a seal pocker portion 16. A portion of the oil flows through the gaps in a radial bearing 13, and returns to the chamber 11c while lubricating a thrust bearing 20. By this constitution, an amount of oil required for lubrication of driving parts is retained sufficiently, to enable retaining of an adequate amount of lubricating oil even at the time of oil foaming in the biginning stage of driving.
