Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve oil-separating power by forming projections on an oil separator plate, and to improve contained-oil separating power for suction refrigerant by forming a suction refrigerant circuit in the shape of a labyrinth using plural oil separator plates.
CONSTITUTION: The refrigerant discharged from a housing 10 and returned to the housing 10 after circulating through cooling circuit is directed into a cylindrical side wall 13 through a suction chamber 122 in a rear end plate 12. Since an oil separator plate 34 having projections on its surface is arranged at a suction port 30 opening into a side wall 13, the suction refrigerant collides with the plate 34 immediately before passing the port 30, so that the lubricating oil contained in the refrigerant is separated effectively. Also by forming a suction refrigerant circuit in the form of a labyrinth using plural oil separator plates 34, contained-oil separating power for the suction refrigerant can be improved.
