Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate manufacture of a gaseous bearing with improved performance, by burying porous bushes in many holes made on movable or stationary members and feeding high pressure gas in the bearing clearance from outside through the bushes.
CONSTITUTION: Porous bushes 19 are buried in many concentric holes made on stationary members 14, 15 and high pressure gas is fed from outside in a bearing clearance 20 through the bushes. The porous material used for the bushes make it easy to make holes with a diameter of several ϕmm. The bushes slightly squeezed into from the slip surface can avoid clogging of pores due to surface machining. This method facilitates manufacture of a gaseous bearing with performance as high as that of a conventional product using feed gas ports.
