Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a good connection between a flow cell and tubes, the flow cell is held by use of packing inserted between the base and a cover having tube joints. CONSTITUTION:The base 1 is fixed to the unit body 2 by screwing male screw 3a of the pick-up screw into female screw 2a. The bottom of the glass-made flow cell 4 is inserted into the concave part 1a of the base 1, and positioned. The metal lid 6 attached with tube joints 8a, 8b is fixed to the base 1 by screws 5a, 5b. And the top of the flow cell 4 is inserted into the concave part 6a of the metal lid with teflon packing 7 therebetween. The teflon packing elastically deforms and provides good contact with metal and glass, and therefore is effective in complete sealing of the opening area of the connection. Furthermore, the flow cell 4 can be assuredely attahced with or detached from tubes connected to the tube joints 8a, 8b, and the operation can be repeated with good reproducibility.
