Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a fixing device responding quickly to environmental changes by shortening the warmup time after power closing, by controlling the supply power to the heating element of a fixing device according to the control signal of high consumption power load.
CONSTITUTION: A halogen lamp 8, which is a high consumption power load, is connected parallel to a circuit of heaters 5, 6 through a relay switch 7. The relay switch 7 is normally connected to the contact a side, and is changed over to the contact b side when the relay operates. The cntact a is connected to the heaters 5, 6, and the contact b is connected to the halogen lamp 8. When the power is closed, the power is supplied only to the heater 6. When the temperature of the fixing part reaches an allowable range, the halogen lamp is ready to light up. Since the supply power to the heating element in the heater circuit is controlled according to the operation of the halogen lamp, the warmup time may be shortened.
