Abstract

PURPOSE: A polymerization system consisting of styrene and acrylonitrile is put together with an epoxidized vegetable oil and they are subjected to copolymerization to produce title composition having improved moldability and releasing properties.
CONSTITUTION: A polymerization system consisting of 95W20wt% of styrene and 5W80wt% of acrylonitrile is put together witn an epoxidized vegetable oil containing more than 6.0% of oxirane oxygen so that the amount of the epoxidized vegetagle oil becomes 0.1W10 parts by wt per 100 parts of the resulting styrene-acrylonitrile resin. The styrene-acrylonitrile resin is placed in high vacuum to remove the unreacted monomers and the remaining unreacted monomer is reduced to less than 0.5 part per 100 parts of the styrene-acrylonitrile resin.
