Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the spectroscope smaller and simpler in ideal form and enable the same to be handled with the same ease as that with electronic circuits by separating the condensing system of light to a horizontal direction and a vertical direction thereby eliminating astigmatism. CONSTITUTION:A plane diffraction grating 2 and two cylindrical mirror faces 3, 4 are disposed around a transparent dielectric thin plate 1. Slab lens form media 7, 7 are disposed respectively to an incident port 5 and an exit port 6. The cylindrical mirror faces 3, 4 assume a uniform shape in the thickness direction and condense light only in the horizontal direction. The slab lens form media 7, 8 condense light only in the vertical direction as their refractive indices make a square distribution in the thickness direction. This enables the spectroscope to be made smaller and simpler in ideal form and to be handled with the same ease as with electronic circuits.
