Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a good color developing property while removing offensive odor employing dimers of styrene and methyl styrene compounds as a solvent for pressure-sensitive copying paper. CONSTITUTION:A dimer of a single compound and dimers of varied compounds comprising styrene and methyl styrene compounds are used for solvent for pressure- sensitive copying papers to prevent the generation of offensive odor along with higher color developing property and light resistance by bettering the biological decomposition and improving the boiling point and dye solvability. Here, the styrene compounds such as styrene dimers and monomethyl styrene dimer may be a microcapsule dispersion agent by adding an oxidized gelatin and a acetic acid to an emulsified liquid obtained after mixed with a dye, a gum arabic and water. The dispersion liquid thus obtained is applied on a paper and allowed to dry. If pressurized by a underlay paper using acid white earth, it can yield a excellent color developing property.
