Abstract
PURPOSE: To cool, in the bearing of a hydraulic machine employing heat pipes, the radiating portion of the heat pipes with the temperature and evaporation heat of water for maximizing the efficiency of the heat pipes and minimizing the quantity of the heat pipes.
CONSTITUTION: An oil tank 3 is provided in the lower part of the bearing bed of a bearing 1 for rotatably bearing a main shaft 5, and a leak water tank 8 in the lower part of the oil tank 3 to store the leak water splashed by a drain board 6 rotating together with the main shaft 5 on the way from a main-shaft stuffing box 7. One end of the heat pipe 9 is placed in the leak water tank 8, the heat pipe 9 is covered with a small mesh gauze for example having capillary function, and the other end of the heat pipe 9 is placed in the oil tank 3. Thereby, the heat increased by the slide heating of the main shaft 5 and bearing 1, of the lubricating oil in the oil tank 3, can be radiated onto leak water tank 8 side by the heat pipe 9 so that the bearing 1 can be cooled effectively.
